Monarch is located outside Kaiser Permanente Mission Bay Medical Center in San Francisco, California. Inspired by the migratory paths of the Monarch butterfly to the coast of California, the sculpture resembles the trunk of a large tree that the butterflies have landed on during their migration.
My responsibilities were working on the initial design concept model, a portion of the construction set, and fabrication coordination.
